The four-star Holiday Inn Central Plaza (Beijing Zhonghuan Jiari Jiudian) is an efficiently run four-star hotel that, though somewhat remote from the center of the city, is always spic and span and excellent value. For many tourists, this Holiday Inn's Xuanwu District location is actually a bonus, as the surrounding streets have retained the feeling of old Beijing to a degree lost in much of the modernized center. Though close to the Guanganmen Railway Station, the metro is not handy and guests have to rely on taxis to get around greater Beijing (give yourself a good 20-25 minutes to get to Tian'anmen Square and 45 to get to the airport in moderate traffic).
